Stories of a Gravedigger
Synopsis
The movie features three tales of terror: Just Another Night, written and directed by Steve Villeneuve, about former hospital patients seeking revenge; La Diable (pictured), written and directed by Simon Geraghty, in which six friends travel the titular river and soon come to regret it; and Room 66, directed by David Aubin, in which a writer tries to finish his book in a hotel room where strange things begin to happen. The FX for all three were overseen by David Therrien, who also produced the segments along with Villeneuve and Aubin; Aubin and Therrien additionally created an animated segment. (Fangoria.com)
Stories...«is an anthology of three tales: Just Another Night, La Diable, and Room 66.» The thing that hooked me though, is its innovative use of 2D and 3D animation (along with live actors) in telling its tales. Quite ambitious for an Indie. The plots: Just Another Night - This was supposed to be just another night like the others for John. But it seems that old patients of the hospital decided to choose that night for vengeance. John's mind will awake the living dead and this night might be....his last ! La Diable - There's an old legend surrounding that river. It says that the indians gave the name La Diable to the river because it was the middle point of a war 400 years ago. Now, 6 friends ignore this legend and they will try to cross La Diable. But they couldn't imagine that the Evil is closer than they think. Room 66 is the story of a writer who needs to finish his book in just one night. But something strange is happening in his hotel room and he asks himself if he has opened something never meant to be unlocked. Is it hell...? (www.horrorwatch.com)
